Have'd your dad purchased the software at the Serif Affinity Store or the Microsoft Store?

I'm unsure. We're no longer talking, but I assume it was the Affinity store, as he had gotten a digital email receipt.

If your dad bought it from the Affinity Store, it would be under his account there, using his email address. Also, under the terms of the License Agreement, it can only be used on a computer he owns or controls.

Similarly, if he bought it from the Microsoft Store, it would be under his Microsoft Store account, based on his Windows ID.

Do you still have access to the old laptop? Then you could open the Windows Store app to see if Affinity Designer appears in your library.

I already had before checking the forum.

Okay, well, I guess that clears things up. I don't know if he ever made an account, as he did purchase it specifically for me, but I suppose there's not much that can be done. Thanks, anyway!
