Stroke width determined by angle

Recommended Posts

I’d be happy to be able to set a variable width to the strokes that is determined by a custom angle of a flat brush. Basically i need a stroke that imitates a calligraphic parallel pen. This is because I create italic scripts in illustrator and I really want to be able to do that here as well..

You’re not alone in wanting to see a calligraphic nib for pen strokes, but what is a “parallel” pen? :/

Parallel pen is a pen with flat nib rather than pointy

Thanks for the clarification. That’s actually what I think of as a calligraphic pen (so for me the “parallel” bit is redundant).

You learn something new everyday! I had assumed that a "parallel pen" was one that drew a number of parallel lines in one go. (Such as for drawing music staves, or for drawing a thick and thin line in parallel with one stroke.)
