How to export layer group as PNG from Affinity Designer to create OS X icon

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have created an Affinity Designer file with 4 snooker balls. I want to export 1 snooker ball as a PNG file and then create an icon for OS X from that PNG file.

At what size ( in pixels ) should I export my PNG

Also, how can I export @1x, @2x, @3x PNG files from my designer file.

I have macbook pro retina 15"

Any help will be highly appreciated !!

Hi vermau,

and welcome here …  :)

In Affinity Designer there are two different ways to export files as PNGs:

  • Global export, accessible through File > Export.
  • Slice-based export, accessible through the Export Persona.

If you want to export @1x, @2x, @3x PNG files from your Designer file, you should use the Export Persona, and the size of the @1x file is obviously determined by the intended use of the design. In order to understand the different ways of exporting, I would recommend reading the respective passages in the in-app help files first (Help > Affinity Designer Help).
