Please select an RGB pixel layer before entering Develop.

Recommended Posts

I am getting the message:  Please select an RGB pixel layer before entering Develop, when I either attempt to close out photo project or access development persona.  I'm new to Affinity and am basically listening it via on-line Vimeo videos and playing around with it.  I have no idea how to address this or how to cancel it out.  Help appreciated.

i think the problem is that you have no layer selected when you click on the develop persona icon.

this can happen, for example, if you create a layer mask clicking on the icon at the bottom of the layers panel, on the right side of ap's window: the mask is created, and no layer is selected (maybe it's a small bug: i'd find useful to have the new mask, or the mask+layer selected automatically).

in this situation, if you click on develop, ap doesn't know what to open in the develop persona: just click on one of the layers before clicking on develop, and you'll have that layer in the develop persona.

if you need to send to the develop persona all of the layers and adjustments you possibly added to the original image, just select the top layer (or adjustment), then select layer->merge_visible from the menus: this will create a new layer that includes all of the layers and adjustments that are visibile.

take care,

stefano
