Before explaining my problem, please note that the sentence is strange because I am not from an English-speaking country and rely on Google Translate.

While using Affinity Photo on my laptop, I had no problems, but recently, when I connected an external monitor to my laptop, I ran into a bit of a strange problem.

At first I thought the problem was that the Adjustment dialogs were not showing. I clicked and double-clicked Adjustment, reinstalled Affinity Photo, and even reinstalled Windows, but the Adjustment dialogs did not appear, so I couldn't do anything with Affinity Photo.

But just recently, while I was hitting Adjustment with a bit of anger, something caught my eye.

I didn't know the Adjustment dialogs were there because I had other programs (eg firefox, image viewer) running on my laptop monitor.

My question is, is there no way for the user to determine the initial position of the Adjustment dialogs?

Some adjustments are still not available because dialogs are created in locations that cannot be dragged with the mouse.

I have tried adjusting the position of the monitor, but the problem is still there.

My guess is that the difference in resolution between the two monitors is what caused this issue, but I'm not sure.

Dragging the dialog to use the Adjustment every time is very cumbersome.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @msbaek. If it makes you more comfortable, or helps explain your problem more completely, please feel free to use your native language either instead of or in addition to a translated version. There may be users here who speak your language and will be able to respond and help you without needing the translation. Others of us may translate it (if you didn't), or respond in English (letting you translate our English), or we may translate it and hope the translation is adequate. We're a friendly and flexible group that way :)

For your problem: Yes, using different monitor setups can cause positioning problems. You can try this to recover:

  1. Press and hold the Ctrl key while starting the application.
  2. Keep it pressed until you see a "Clear User Defaults" dialog appear. If your system operates like mine, you will first see the application icon appear in the Windows Task Bar, and you will have to click on it with your mouse in order to get the dialog. Once you have the dialog, release the Ctrl key.
  3. Leave the top 3 options checked, and click the Clear button. Do not select any other options, or you will reset more than you need to.

I followed the method you suggested, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem.
My laptop uses Intel integrated graphics, is this possibly the cause?
Before using a laptop, I used dual monitors in a pc environment using a GeForce graphics card, but there was no such problem.

Hi @msbaek,
Have you tried to changing the screen resolution and then set it back to the original resolution again? Does it fix the issue?

Matching the resolutions of both monitors to FHD changed the position of the adjustment dialogs to a draggable position, but it is still inconvenient to use because my Wacom tablet is matched to the upper monitor.
