How do I fill line drawing with colour?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've downloaded some simple line drawings but they are transparent.  I want the images to be colour filled.

Excuse my ignorance, I'm a complete beginner here.

I have grabbed all layers and they are grouped into one image - but if I then go and try and fill the image with the fill tool, it just colours the entire background as well and not just the image.

Could someone explain what I need to do please --- very grateful thanks!

If you are using Affinity Designer switch to the Pixel persona and add a new pixel layer as a child of your vector layer and when you use the fill tool it will only colour within the shape.

If you are using Photo you can either paint directly on the same layer or add a mew layer beneath and then paint on this layer.
