Can I add curves to other curves without grouping them if there is a space between them?

Ok I found it. Under the vaguely named sub menu called "geometry".

Why do you say that the ‘Geometry’ sub-menu is “vaguely named”?
That sub-menu is concerned with performing actions on the geometries – how the shapes of the layers are defined: points; lines; curves; etc. – of the selected layers.
What do you think would be a better name?

Personally, when I first saw the Geometry sub-menu I thought it would give me the area and line lengths and angles of selected objects.
