Application Won't Open file

I bought the Affinity Publisher together with Designer and Photo last April 2022 I was able to export my work but when I was trying to edit my work my Affinity Publisher suddenly won't open so I forced Quit and uploaded it again however it won't open.

Just a note to say that the top and bottom margins are different for even and odd pages. Just a point or two but it is different.

Your PDF file opens in APub without problems for me on my Mac.

What specifically happens if you try to open that PDF in APub? Do you get an error message or what?

Hi. There is no problem with the file. My problem is that my Affinity Publisher is not opening since last night and that is the last file that I did.

How specifically are you trying to open it? Are you double-clicking on the app icon somewhere like in your Applications folder, or what?

Are you a Mac or Windows user?

Also, what happens if you try to drag your PDF onto the APub app icon or use 'Open with...' on it to select APub from there?

I am a Mac user. When I double click the app icon it's not opening and it just showing the color wheel. When I try to open a file it will not open as well.

Hi @NHE,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums & I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I'd like to try resetting your app back to default settings, to see if this allows the app to open. 

You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.

Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc.

I tried your instruction but my Apub still not responding. 

I hold down the CTRL key while clicking the app icon but the Clear User Data window didn't appear.

I still can't open the Affinity Publisher.

Attached is what show up when I hold down CTRL key while clicking the Affinity Publishers app icon.

You have to hold the Control key down until the application shows the window, there would ordinarily be just the 'splash screen' visible at this point in the starting process.

I did hold down the CTRL key and click on the Affinity Publisher app icon still the Clear User Data window is not showing up.

I just restart my Mac and downloaded again the Affinity Designer, Affinity Publisher and Affinity Photo again.

Hope my APub will open.

Do you run two monitors? Have you ever had two monitors running? There are problems with windows showing up off screen when a second monitor has been used.

Are you certain that the application was not already running? Your screenshot of what you see indicates that the application is not responding. Which means it is currently running.

So what I think what  @NHE needs to do first is force quit APub, & then try the CTRL key startup to get to the Clear User Data screen.

Hi Everyone (Komatos, Old Bruce, R C-R, and Dan C).

Thank you very much for everyone's help. 
I appreciate all the responses to this problem.
I misunderstood Dan's message, and R C-R was able to clear it up.
What I did was to Force Quit and from the Launch start up.
I press the CTRL key startup to get to the Clear User Data screen, and now my APub works.
Hurray!!!
Now I am back to work.
Again.

Thanks for responding with how you were able to solve this. Helps others with the same/similar problem when people take the time to do this. Also it encourages those who offer (good/useful) suggestions to continue to do so.
