Cannot import font

I cannot import fonts. I am running ipados 16.0 developer beta 2 and affinity photo version 1.10.5. There isnt a problem with the font btw. see video

Welcome to the forum.

The Affinity Applications do not provide any Fonts, the Fonts are provided by your OS. You should be able to see and manage any Fonts already installed via the OS provided Font Manager.

I’ve noticed a change since iOS 15. I think it’s something to do with Apple changing how iPadOS imports fonts. My font installers (I’ve tried several) say they can import fonts , using the old profile method. I install the profiles but no apps 'see' them. Under settings there is also now a Fonts setting. Mine shows no fonts installed and refers me to App Store to purchase fonts.

There was a change in iOS 14. I still use AnyFont, and the fonts that I install via the configuration profiles it creates still show up in AD, APh, and other apps, but they’re no longer listed in the Settings app as they used to be.

Hi Alfred, that’s Interesting. I’ve got Fonteer, Phont, iFont, Fontinator and Fontcase and can’t get any to work.☹️ I think I had Anyfont at one stage. I’ll suss that out and give it a go.
 

I can still see the profiles installed in settings though. They are now listed under Settings/General/VPN and Device Management.

Thanks, Dave. That’s an inventive place to hide them! However, I can’t see any recent additions there.

There is also a new location under Settings/General/Fonts, but mine says no fonts installed. The screen  links to the AppStore where fonts can be purchased and installed (without using profiles - I think).

I just tried installing another font. Installed the profile and can see it in settings. It worked. I can see it in affinity.
It must be something to do with the Lato font family itself that prevents it working.

What is the font? Can you see it under ‘Settings/General/VPN and Device Management’, or ‘Settings/General/Fonts’, or both?

Unfortunately Lato (a Google font?) doesn’t work. So it appears to be specific to certain font families.

Lato was the problem. I have sourced another copy from Font squirrel and it has installed successfully 👍👍
