RAW-Data from Canon R3

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My RAW images imported and opened from the Canon R3 all look like the example shown (in all Affinity programs). Attached is a comparison between .CR3 and .jpeg.

Where is the error here, with me or in the programs?
🙂 Gerhard

Hi @GerhardL,

Sorry to see you're having trouble!

As can be seen in the following list, the Canon R3 unfortunately isn't a compatible camera model for RAW development in Affinity currently -

I suspect this is the reason you are seeing this colour cast on the RAW file, and we hope to add support for this camera in a future version.

I hope this clears things up :)

Please note -

On macOS and iOS there is an additional option to use the built in RAW image processing Apple (core image raw) engine please refer instead to these articles for their list of supported models:

List: on macOS Monterey and iOS 15 - the EOS R3 is included.

Can I set/enable this option somewhere?

🙂 Gerhard

My apologies, I had misread this report as Windows and not Mac!

Please navigate to View > Assistant Manager... and in the dialog that opens, select Develop Assistant... in the bottom left corner. Here you should see control for the Raw Engine, se this to Apple Core RAW and then reopen the RAW file.

Does this now display as expected? :)
