ab300064 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 request filters tool in affinity designer just like affinity photo and second request warp tool it'll in affinity photo why it's not designer too we need it Quote
Pšenda Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 Just a question - what do you think APhoto application would make sense if all its functionality would be included in the ADesigner? Why not use command Edit in Photo...? Why not use command Edit in Photo...? I have already purchased all apps on all platforms. Never the less, it would be much simpler if all functions would be available in one app, without need of the overhead to switch apps. Main focus on Photo and Designer. In Designer, i miss channels panel, histogram/scope, selection tools, live and destructive filters, linked layers, info panel, and all the good pixel stuff. In Photo, i miss stroke panel, symbols, expand stroke, vector brushes, and all the good vector stuff. Switching between apps causes delay, i get frequent crashes, and I can’t use Designer functions in combination with e.g. info panel/ histogram. So I would like to modify the request: those who have purchased Designer and Photo should be able to create a new live filter layer directly within Designer, without needing to switch back and force between apps. All reasonable functionality should be available within one app. the user should be able to use e.g. view>studio to check which functions he wants to be visible in UI to avoid overload. Pšenda Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Yes, but that's a completely different problem than the OP's request - easier/seamless linking of functionality from all purchased applications. I think it's a shame that StudioLink works only in APublisher - linking using Personas would be more user-friendly than having to switch applications using Edit in... I only clarified that I’m willing to pay the extra cost for Photo for using filters in Designer. Never the less, the core is to have filters available in Designer. There is zero technical reason to not have the UI in designer, it is merely for commercial aspects (selling a separate license for Photo). And Studio link / edit in Photo is no replacement. There are asset libraries containing all the filers to be directly used in designer, but it is a unnecessary complication to deal with all these workarounds Pšenda 1 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Old Bruce Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 If Affinity had released one large application with all the functionality of all three applications I wouldn't have purchased it. If they were to sometime make one large application that has all the functionality of all three applications I still wouldn't purchase it. I can afford to upgrade the different applications as I need them, however I wouldn't be able to afford/justify that one much more expensive purchase. I will stay with version 1 until I find something else. How many people would pay triple the cost of Designer knowing that it lacks the ability to warp text and has no image tracing capability. There are people who own only one of the applications, they wouldn't have paid more to get stuff they won't use. Say I want Photo and only Photo. As it is I don't use a lot of the functionality of Photo but there is enough stuff there that I will use that I can justify the cost of Photo. This stuff has driven the price of Photo up to the point that I would also consider not purchasing it. Now if you add in all the Publisher and Designer stuff, which I will also most likely never use, then one large relatively expensive application is going to be not bought by me. In my opinion, this is not the same as "I will pay extra". P.S. your opinions are completely irrelevant in relation to the OP's request I wrote about. ab300064 Posted July 10, 2022 Author Posted July 10, 2022 I'm not a sales man but if you make the apps better you'll have new users [ I'm just saying, better product more people going to have it ] i know you're doing your best approach it Quote

Oh thank you for granting me the „irrelevance“ argument. The OP did not mention the commercial aspect in his first post. It is your interpretation which rules the world, got it.
