making selections and camera raw

Hi,

two questions,

1.can I use the pen tool or a shape and then convert that into a selection? How so?

2.Can I open a jpeg in camera raw?

1. Yea

Make your selection with the pen tool and then press the "selection" button

It's in the top left, just below the persona icons

 

2. Yea

Just select the pixel layer you want to take into the develop persona and press the develop persona button on the top left (the third one)

- if you open a jpg and want to take it into the develop persona, the pixel layer will be your only layer which is labled "background"

- if you have done some adjustments in the photo persona you can go to "layer > merge visible" and then take this pixel layer into the develope persona

 

+ side note: non destructive RAW developement (persona) is on the roadmap
