Exporting Affinity Publisher Manuscript as PDF for KDP

Recommended Posts

Hi Again,

I've completed a 386 page book using Affinity Publisher to publish on KDP. I'm having trouble exporting it into a PDF that is separate pages.

This is my first book using Affinity Publisher and my first book using KDP. Does anyone have any experience with this? I created the book cover with Affinity Designer and it appears that the PDF export worked without any problems. Any help is greatly appreciated.

In the Export dialog, choose "Area: All Pages" rather than "All Spreads".

@annamilano - I've been using Publisher to produce and upload finished product to KDP's POD books for some time. Publisher is excellent software. When your book goes live, I highly recommend you order at least one to check your formatting and output.

Welcome to the world of POD.

Having trouble with KDP acceptance of the file.

Enter into Affinity Publisher:

For an example:  I have an 8.5 by 11 book as trim size.  Set the Page to 8.625 x 11.25 for Bleed Then place the margins in the boxes  as Gutter .625(min .5)  Outside margins Top and side as .25.  Bottom margin .35(min .25).   Then I enter bleed into the Affinity boxes as .125.

After exporting and downloading KDP, it will not accept the file.  This is using "all pages" and "press ready"  - have tried the flattening or rasterizing.

My first book worked in Canva,  But Affinity is much easier to work with in the development phase.

Do you see a flaw in the method?
