Converting a Flyer into a 3 Fold

My esteemed listmates,

 

I’m trying to convert an 8 ½ x 11 inch (typical letter size) library program flyer into a 3 fold and print that on card stock so it can stand up on its own like a display.

 

Would anyone who’s done this please share the step by step or share the link to the PDF of this being detailed?

 

I’m on a surprise deadline today!

Affinity doesn't allow print spreads of more than 2 pages. You didn't tell your app.

Ask your printer. – Or: Divide your sheet with guides by 3 and move this 2 folds as wanted. For the back side mirror the positions of the 2 folds. Make up our mind how you want it to get folded by using a physical dummy sheet. This lets you check the 2 fold positions and the page order, respectively the title page, and thus the reading order. Choose ~300 gr/m2 to make it stand.

The panel that folds inside needs to be slightly narrower than the other two.

Thank you for your suggestions. I think next time I need to plan for a trifold with content designed specifically for that. It doesn't seem you can simply take a 2 sided flyer and migrate all the words and jpgs and pngs on those 2 sides automatically arranged into a trifold. A-Pub does a lot but it's not a miracle worker!

Quite so. A two-sided flyer can have all of the content incorporated into two spreads, but a trifold is generally going to have at least four separate areas.

Did you really expect your layout to get adjusted automatically ?
(Whenever I tried "Liquid Layout" in ID it was disappointing because of the additional need of manual work)

In case you need to convert such layouts more often then the Affinity Constraints Feature might be worth a look. It can help indeed when layouts get to semi-auto change their size or aspect ratio. There are various tutorials around, for instance …
