I just downloaded a new ICC printer profile into profiles directory. When I try to use it in Affinity I cannot find the filename as it is listed in the directory. There is one there but with a different name. Does affinity use a different profiles directory?. I tried using the import ICC profile with the same results.

Hi @Kbowen,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

.ICC files have 2 different ways of naming, firstly the file itself has a name which can be edited by anyone, as with any file on your PC.

Currently this is 'SC-P9000_P7000_Series_LLK DisplayTransII_MK.icc', however I could simply rename this profile to anything I wish.

The name used for the file as displayed in Windows Explorer etc is not necessarily the same name as the profile itself, as this could have been changed by any user since the profile was created.

The second way these files have 'names' is actually built into the .icc file itself, which (as I understand it) isn't something you can directly edit without the appropriate application.

Opening the .icc file you've provided in a text editor shows this hidden name, which Affinity (and other apps) would use for displaying this profile -

As can be seen after installing the profile, it is this 'hidden' name that Affinity uses in the apps UI -

I hope this clears things up!
