datorhaexa
I'm using AD 1.10.5.1342 on Win. When exporting a file for print as a JPG, the export size (in this case with a bleed but even without, it's the same problem) is wrong. I'm not doing anything exotic, so I can't imagine where there could be a problem. A PDF export works well as long as I'm not using an artboard (because there it had problems). Generally, those export issues with AD are making it hard to move away from a spare Photoshop and that's not good for the product.
Staff Dan C Posted June 30, 2022 Staff Share Posted June 30, 2022 Hi @datorhaexa, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! Can you please provide a copy of your .afdesign file, and a screenshot of your JPEG export settings so we can investigate this further? If you'd like a private upload link for this file, please let me know Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. Staff Dan C Posted June 30, 2022 Staff Share Posted June 30, 2022 Many thanks for providing that for me! I would expect the exported JPEG from your document, including bleed, to measure 57mm x 87mm - the reason you're seeing 57.1mm is due to JPEG requiring 'full pixel' sizes when exporting, and 57mm x87mm @ 300dpi would be 673.2 px x 1027.6 px. Therefore, when exporting this has to be rounded to 674px x 1028px - or 57.1mm x 87mm. Unfortunately this cannot be changed, as it's required for raster formats to be 'full pixels' in size. If you are printing this document and require exact millimeter sizing, I'd recommend exporting to PDF and then printing this. I hope this clears things up Quote Please note - I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time. datorhaexa
@Dan C Thanks for the reply! I suspected such a dependency but I don't recall this happening before. Anyway. Will see if a PDF will pass the requirements or else go an extra step through a bitmap application. Dan C
