Can the size of a document be prioritized over the name in case the name is too long?

Recommended Posts

The filename in your example doesn’t seem to be very long (6 characters including the prefix) and there doesn’t seem to be a problem that I can see.
Can you show us an example showing us where there is a problem?
Can you also tell us what you would prefer to see in such situations?

If I want to work on a 100% screenshot I can't see the size if the file name is too long.

If you press Ctrl+1 on Windows or Cmd+1 on macOS, you’ll know that the display zoom is set to 100% and you won’t need to have that value visible on the screen.

I’m guessing that the OP would like the filename to be truncated. This would obviously have to be an option so as to avoid imposing it on those of us who don’t want it!

There are generally three options for seeing more text in situations like this:
1. Truncation – which part is truncated – start/finish/both/middle?
2. Smaller text – how small do you go – when is smaller too small?
3. Text wrapping – maybe also with one or more of the above.

It would be nice to see a screen-grab of an example of the problem and hear what the OP thinks should be done about it.

I think that what @ennuied is frustrated by is the truncation of the Percentage zoom being shown in the "Status" thing in the Toolbar. The name and the file extension and the zoom factor are treated as one long string, to be shortened from the right. Best would be if each of the three elements were included and only the name was shortened.

As it is now

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
