affinity publisher relative position

Hello,

I need to set a distance between 2 spared text fields to be dynamic on my master. Meaning when one grows to 2 lines the other keeps the distance.  Help me set it up.

Assuming the bottom half is a text box and the purple rounded rectangle is a shape, I would add a margin to the bottom of the rectangle ensuring the text flow is appropriately set. Also checking that baseline is off or set approximately.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

If they're separate objects, there's no way that I know of to have the distance maintained dynamically. If you had one text frame, though, you could:

1. Use a Text Style for the headline, and have it use a Paragraph Decoration to provide the purple background. (But it would not have rounded corners.)
2. That Text Style could also use Space After to provide the constant spacing you want, and it could also switch to the proper Text Style for the following text.
3. I'm not sure about getting the red background for the number, though. That might be done with a Character Background.

Affinity has two separate features which can do automatic text move as wanted: Text Wrap and/or Pinning. It does not move the objects but their text content.
