Cant open file - error: "The file contains features from a newer Affinity version" (altough latest version is installed and repaired!!)

Hi there,

unfortunately, a problem has occurred with one of my publisher files:  it can no longer be opened and I get the error message "The file contains features from a newer Affinity version.", although I've been using the latest version of Affinity publisher and was able to edit the file for the last few weeks without any problems.

My publisher is up to date with version 1.10.5.1342, I have already reinstalled and repaired the program without any success. 
I hope you have an idea how I can save my work from the last few weeks, since the file has to be submitted in 3 days...

(i have asked two fellow students to try opening the file- everyone had the same error message)

Installierter RAM:    32,0 GB
Systemtyp:    64-Bit-Betriebssystem, x64-basierter Prozessor
Betriebssystem: Windows 10 Home

Hi Emmi, 

Welcome to the forums, sorry to hear you are having an issue with your file. Do you have a backup you can return to?

Was this a file that was saved to your hard disk or removable storage or somewhere else? I have tested and I also cannot open the file either. We can attempt to recover the file, however it's not possible to give you an indication of whether it's possible or any timeline for this.
