curves adjustment blend range stops working when adding mask as child layer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

when using an curves adjustment layer, setting blend range, this stops working when adding a vector mask (rectangle nested to masking position).

In the example file: use top layer (curves adjustment).

  • Nested vector mask active: BR gets ignored
  • Nested vector mask inactive: BR works

EDIT

PS: Same issue for mask layer (bitmap mask)

PS2: only curves adjustment is impacted. Others like levels, channel mixer etc are ok.

PS3: replaced attached file with a simplified version.

  • bottom: gradient black to white '
  • curve: invert curve, with blend range destination set to 50% linear to get 50% gray as result.
  • if you toggle the mask (full white), you see the issue immediately.

PS4: same issue on Mac / Desktop

PS5:

The issue is not limited to blend range. Actually, the curves adjustments simply stops working completely in case of nested masks layers (or vector masks). Probably and already raised bug report from years ago.

PS6 affects all adjustment layers, except gradient map which works correct. Live filters are not impacted.
