How to draw a piece sign hand

Recommended Posts

Hi Josie,

This should be covered by previous posts you have made on the forums it should be no different to drawing a cupcake cat or donut etc. Why don't you show us how far you get when you try and we'll advise from there?

Thanks
C

This is how far I’ve gotten, but don’t know how to do the fingers

Just use the Pen Tool to add three more curves, but with a thinner stroke. The curve for the thumb needs to be open, but the curves for the little finger and the ring finger can be closed if you find them easier to draw that way.

Hi Josie,

You should just need to draw two more curves in the shape of a Capital J as shown in my attached screenshot below. I have made each curve a different colour so you can see how this has been done.

How is this?

It looks like you've nailed it. You can use the methods you have learned here and in previous threads to draw almost any shape / object It just might take some planning out and clever thinking.

how do I make this peach girl look like she is standing in high heels or walking in high heels?

Doesn't it already look like she has high heels?

What don't you like about it?

Yes, but I want something more along the lines of similar to this.

I prefer your version! That “pear” of feet looks silly without legs.

Looking good, Josie, although you might want to add a little shading or a gradient fill to the heart/peach so it isn’t quite so flat. And I would be inclined to make the text all caps, or all caps and lower case, instead of the current mixture of the two. You might also want to resize the hands: the “peace sign” hand is currently much bigger than the other one.

So how would I add shading to the peach?

The same way as you would add shading to anything else! Either apply a gradient fill varying from the original colour to a darker shade (i.e. decreased luminance/lightness via the HSL controls) or position a semitransparent black shape on top wherever you want the shading to be.

Could you show me how to do that so I know what you are talking about exactly?

I'm sure that shading has been answered in one of your other topics, Josie. Maybe even two of them.

The same techniques should work here.

Perhaps it would help to look back at one of your previous posts:
