retrograde
Nice job jMaguire. Lot's of character. One suggestion I would make might be to slightly thicken up the outlines on each of or the 2 dominant animals in the foreground to separate them a bit from the background. luizcotta 1 Quote http://www.kevincreative.com https://www.behance.net/kevincreative https://dribbble.com/kevincreative https://www.instagram.com/kevincreative/
jMaguire
Hi retrograde Thanks for the feedback. I've found that you need to trend carefully with the weight of the outline strokes in this kind of illustration. A bit too much can make a character look completely isolated from the rest of the composition. Jim
DarylAskey
Nice work. Fun illustration! My suggestion would be regarding the title: The colours work well with the content and as a way of standing out fairly well from the busy background. Perhaps a slightly more friendly (humanist) typeface might compliment the illustration better. Cheers, Daryl luizcotta
jMaguire
Morning Daryl Thanks for your comments on my book cover. As far as the font goes my main concern is readability. As this will be the cover for an iTunes iBook all the potential viewer has to look at is a small thumbnail on the store page. Helvetica may seem a little uninspired but it is clear and simple. A_B_C
Very nice, Jim, I love it … :) (In parentheses: I believe Daryl makes a good point about the font … there are so many fantastic and very readable typefaces out there, that it might make sense to look for an alternative to Helvetica. I would suggest something like FF Tisa Sans or similar designs. I feel the use of Helvetica somewhat breaks the wonderful dreamy atmosphere of your design … excuse this remark.) David
Hi Advanced Member Thanks for your feedback, advice and kind words. I really like Helvetica. Jim I like swiss, exactly the same as Helvetica but makes me sound clever ;) Quote DART | Twitter | Dribbble
