Shortcut for Hiding Layers and/or Objects

Recommended Posts

Please forgive me if this has been asked, I have searched and cannot find a solution. I'm a Fireworks crossover, finally had to give up on Fireworks (well, more like give up on Adobe) even though I love it.

One shortcut that was worth its weight in gold was the ability to hide a layer (Command+L). Is this possible in AD? Right now all I can figure out is finding the layer on the layers panel and clicking (or deselecting) the checkbox to hide it. Or do we call them objects here?

Thanks in advance. If this has been covered in another thread, please send the link and then we can close/delete this thread.

ccc,

I have been requesting this for a long time and it is the single greatest thing that I miss from Illustrator. Being able to "Hide/Show All" and "Lock/Unlock All" with a simple shortcut are two things that save me so much time and I greatly miss them. I hope that they make it into Designer sometime soon. This is only a few of the posts where this has been requested (by me but there are others as well).

Hi ccc,

Welcome to the Forums :)

There isn't currently a shortcut for this, however I would recommend making a post in our Feature Requests section for this to be added as I do think it would make a great addition to the app.

Thanks, Callum. Bummer, but I'll jump into the fray on the feature requests and add my vote. While I'm at it, I'll add visual preview when exporting. Helps when exporting at a lower quality level, so we can figure out the right balance of quality and file size. :)
