I opened a publisher document and picked up where I left off yesterday.  Every time I add something or make other changes, I save my work.

A little bit ago, I dragged an image (scan of a newspaper notice) onto the document I'm working on.  There is no difference between this image and many other scans I've been using.  When I released the mouse, the rainbow-colored spinning circle started spinning, and spinning, etc. and I waited for the image to appear.  The spinner kept spinning and nothing happened.  I also couldn't do anything else in Affinity while this was happening.  I waited a while and then decided to force quit out of Affinity (as I couldn't close it in the upper-left like usual).  Again, to note, I had saved all my previous work.  I then opened Affinity again and the interface came up, and I went to File>Open Recent>(my document name) and waited for it to open.  The box in the center-top of the interface says it is "Loading 1 Document", but nothing is happening and there is nothing that I can see that shows it is making any progress.  The document is only 9 pages long, so it couldn't possibly still be trying to load it.  There must be something wrong.

Since I saved all of my work, my pages should still be there, right?  What should I do next to access them?  As I finish writing this, it still says, "Loading 1 document".
