Hi

I am super new to the software so my apologies for the newbie silly question, but I am completely stuck.

I use the software to transform color vector files into black and white. The way I did that was by double clicking the image which highlighted / showed the elements of the image and allowed me to change the color and manipulate it.

For a reason I do not know, it stopped doing that, and as a beginner I do not know how to access that in order to change the colors of vector files.

I am watching tutorials but not finding the answer.

Can you please help me here? It means the world to me as I am lost without it for my work.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Ani12,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

Unfortunately I'm not 100% certain of the workflow you're describing - if possible can you provide a sample document, or screenshots/ a screen recording as Psenda has requested above? This should help us to better understand and support this issue.

Many thanks in advance!

What are you double-clicking on, something in a Finder or Explorer window, or a layer in a file you have opened in an Affinity app?

Also, which of the 3 Affinity apps are you using & are you using a Mac or Windows PC?

That's why we need the screenshots or video :)

But it may be that because the OP just joined the forum a few hours ago that he or she does not yet have privileges to attach anything to a post.

If that is the case (& I have no idea if it is or not) then at least knowing what is being double-clicked on & which app(s) are being used may get an answer more quickly.

think attachments are only disallowed for a user’s very first post, but the OP can find out easily enough by posting again and trying to attach something!

You said "I use the software to transform color vector files into black and white. The way I did that was by double clicking the image which highlighted / showed the elements of the image and allowed me to change the color and manipulate it."

This actually sounds like you were working with an SVG if it showed and allowed you to edit the separate sections of the image.   Are you working with more than one image? And if so are all the file extensions the same for the "vector" image?  Sometimes it works just to select the image and then set the fill color to either black or white. This will usually change the image to black and white.
