Hi,

a added a group containing fill layer, add noise, and more blur filters and contrast adjustment to create a grainy salt structure.

Then I tried to remove darker parts with help of blend range.

  • In blend Mode „pass through“, the expected effect is visible
  • in all other blend modes, blend range show no effect at all.

By Design or bug or something else?

Thanks for sending over the file,

There's an issue currently logged with the developers which relates to some of the live filters stopping the blend ranges from working correctly, when I removed the Unsharp Mask/Maximum Blur filters from the group this caused the blend options to start working again, I've added your example for consideration.
