Designer 1.10.5.1342 on Windows 10.

I seem to have arrived at a position where I cannot drag Symbols from the Symbol Panel in the attached document – see video.
I can duplicate a symbol just fine, I just don’t seem to be able to drag any new ones from the panel.

If I close the document and application, and then launch the application and open the file then all is fine again.

Just before I recorded the video, one drag attempt brought a ‘mega symbol’ containing six ‘originally-coloured’ symbols but I don’t seem to be able to replicate that.

I’ve managed to get this document into the same ‘state’ twice but I can’t remember what I did.

I did a quick search and found this:

...but the OP didn’t get back to Callum with a reply.

Does anyone have any idea of what I’ve done wrong?

Could it be possible that these six were previously caused by six separate pulls, but because of a delay in the app appeared together and all at once, as if the app was busy with a task of higher priority in the background? (e.g. checking available volumes, temp files / updating .autosave, … ?)

I don't experience any issue or unusual, conspicuous app behaviour when dragging 20 additional instances of this symbol onto the page in APub.

Hi GarryP,

I can't seem to reproduce this behaviour here at all unfortunately, please could you provide a screen recording demonstrating this issue?

Thanks

thomaso: I don’t think it was a delay issue as, and I should have said earlier, the symbols that were dragged out were positioned in the same relative position as they were on the canvas, if you know what I mean. It was like I was dragging the symbols already on the canvas back to the canvas but they were all coloured like the symbol in the Symbols Panel, not coloured as they were on the canvas.

Callum: The video I attached to the original post is the only demonstration I have. If that’s not enough then I’m not sure I can reproduce it better.

I can recreate the problem by messing about just changing the colours of the various Ellipses contained within the symbols

But I don't have time at the moment to create a definitive procedure to recreate the recipe
