kat
I get a loud beep changing between brush & dropper, sometimes. I'm using a waccom 6. The sound is irritating. Anybody know what the cause of the sound is and how to stop it?
Old Bruce
How are you changing between tools, are you clicking with the pen on the icons in the tool palette or are you using keyboard shortcuts? This is most likely a 'system beep' that is telling you that a keypress or some mouse (pen) click is not valid. Another cause is that you may have a dialog box open somewhere which needs attention. kat 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear. There is almost no chance that it could be anything else. kat 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
thomaso
I never noticed a beep when switching tools ( @kat, do you get it with click only or with keyboard shortcut, too?) – but I get the typical macOS error beep + the according white screen flash whenever I click the quality slider of the PDF export JPG compression rate. Not occasionally only and not when opening the slider but with every single click on the slider, reproducable any time. Just useless and annoying. kat 1 Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
kat
It's when I switch brush, dropper, @thomaso. I'm having a lot of trouble keeping my Intuos 6 in sync, too, with AP. So maybe it has something to do with my waccom. Just upgraded from Intuos 4 a couple months ago.
thomaso
To limit the culprit down you could unplug the wacom + switch the brush with mouse or trackpad. Quote macOS 10.14.6 | MacBookPro Retina 15" | Eizo 27" | Affinity V1
