Mike Sijbrands Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Hi Everyone, I'm Mike Sijbrands and I've been using Affinity photo for about two years now. My Affinity photo has been crashing for some time after a few mouse clicks. I have already seen the tutorial to improve the performance and also applied it unfortunately without result. Does anyone have an idea where the problem could be? My specifications are: Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz 1.50GHz Installed RAM memory: 16.0 GB (15.8 GB available) System type: 64-bit OS, x64 processor Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 Installation date 12-3-2021 thanks in advance
v_kyr Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Hi and welcome! You may want to look after possible generated Affinity crash reports ... Further on Windows systems Affinity often crashes due to updated GPU driver versions and their compatibility with Affinity (and default GPU performance pre-enabled OpenCL hardware acceleration then). - Disabling the OpenCL performance settings under the Affinity preferences sometimes helps here. Other than that, lately also MS Win .Net runtime & framework updates/installments have cause problems, so these are another thing to inspect. ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.2
RichardMH Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 As v_kyr said, try turning off hardware acceleration. Edit->Preferences->Performance.
