Any ideas on how to remove the lens flare from the attached photo, which I've cropped drastically only to hide the person's identity?

I tried this tutorial using Frequency Separation in PS, but can't make it work in AP.

Thanks in advance

I would try the clone tool. Are you familiar with it?

I don't think the Frequency Separation would work in this case, since the lens flare has caused blown out areas.

(But I'm not sure. Maybe someone can chime in with some advice?)

Create an adjustment layer above your original and apply some initial settings

Add a layer mask to the adjustment layer

Fill the layer mask with black

Using a white brush on the layer mask, paint the areas where the lens flares exist

You will need to experiment with the correction layer settings and the brush size and softness to suit your image. Once you have a good mask, you can fine tune the correction settings.
