CherWillson Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Hi, I just updated my Affinity Photo to v 1.10.5 and the gaussian blur (that I use all the time in earlier releases) is not working. Once applied it reverts to a white canvas. Any suggestions? Cher. Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. It would help to have some more information, such as a screenshot of your application workspace with the Layers panel included, as well as information about your OS and about the Gaussian Blur settings you used. However, for an initial guess, if you're on Windows you might try opening the application Preferences, and in the Performance section looking at the Hardware Acceleration option. If it is set on, turn it off, and after restarting the application see if you still have the problem. (On Mac there might be a similar Performance possibility, but I'm not sure what to recommend there.) CherWillson Posted May 31, 2022 Author Posted May 31, 2022 Hi Walt! I'm operating on Windows 10. Image 1: Affinity Photo, Select blur ; Image 2: apply blur (5.5 px); Image 3: white (image is removed ??!) This happens after applying the blur. I have been operating Affinity photo since version 1.7 and haven't run into anything like this before. Quote
NotMyFault Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Hi, is this issue reproducible? if yes, even after rebooting PC? What does the history panel show? Able to undo? Tried to deactivate OpenCL in Preferences/Performance? A gpu driver update could cause (or resolve) issues. If issue persists, please save the file with history, create a screen recording and provide to the mods. walt.farrell Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Thanks for the screenshots, @CherWillson. I'm not sure what's going on, and I concur with @NotMyFault's suggestions.
