Bolbasor33
Hi, I have a MacBook M1 Pro with Mac OS Monterrey. I have raw images from my Canon 80D in my Image/ Photo Library/ and in an album. From Affinity photo, I go to File/Open and select my raw image. But then it opens ir in Photo persona, not in develop persona, it created/imported an RGB .jpg image instead of using the raw I opened. In the pictures, you can see the raw images and in Affinity you can see the automaticaly converted jpg file. What is going on here how can I fix it? Thank you. Pšenda
Insert your "RAW" image to forum. Bolbasor33
Seems like it's a Os problem, because even when I select my raw to import in the forum, it sends a jpg also.

User_783649
@Bolbasor33 What file extension your file has? Are you sure you're exporting Unmodified Original from Apple Photos?

Do you have the original RAW files and the developped JPEGs in the same directory? Or do you just think that they are RAW files and they are already JPEG (for example from the camera)? Ok, I just found out that in order to open the original raw from Affinity, my file has to be locaded somewhere else than in Photos. I think the photo app in Mac is the culprit in exporting and managing the original file to jpg. Thanks for your time.

It doesn't have to be located outside the Apple Photos library but to send the RAW image to AP, you have to open the RAW file in Apple Photos, click the Edit button in that app, then click on the Extensions button in the edit window (looks like a circle with 3 lines in it in some versions of Apple Photos; maybe different looking in others), & then choose "Edit in Affinity Photo" from the menu that pops up. Note that this is different from the "Edit with ..." options in Apple Photos, which will send a developed version to AP instead.
