Designer: Preferences: UI: Font size missing?

Recommended Posts

Total noob, just getting started. Using Designer on Windows laptop and I want to enlarge the screen fonts and tools.

I searched help and read:

To change the UI font size:
  1. Choose Affinity Designer>Preferences.
  2. Choose Edit>Preferences.
  3. Click the User Interface label.
  4. For Font UI Size, choose either Default or Large.

See screenshot - that option is missing. Thanks.

That's an option on Mac versions of the applications, so you won't have it if you're on Windows.

Were you reading the online Help, rather than the Help within the application?

Temporarily adjusting your computer’s display scale percentage might help. Go to Settings à System à Display à Scale and Layout à Change the size of text, apps, and other items. The default scale of 100% can be changed to 125% on your laptop or individual monitor (if using dual monitors). Another thread mentioned custom scaling (e.g., 110%) will cause the Affinity app to crash, so proceed with caution if you try that.

Open the Affinity app. Everything will be bigger. Fonts and buttons included. 😊 When you’re done using the app, simply change your display settings back to the default!
