Roger Young
i have just got Affinity Designer. Trying to create a newsletter with three columns. How do I flow text into other columns. I have used inDesign and Corel Draw 8. I can't wait for Affinity publisher. I used to use lots of Serif software when I was Windows based. Staff Callum Posted December 19, 2015 Staff Share Posted December 19, 2015 Hi Roger, Welcome to the Forums :) Unfortunately it isn't possible to make text flow from column to column in Affinity Designer as it is more of a graphic design app. This is more likely to be a feature of Publisher. And now (3.5 years later) it is possible to use text flow from column to column because you can edit documents from Affinity Publisher in Affinity Designer. I wouldn't use the wording "graphic design app". Technically all 3 Affinity apps are for graphic design, but specifically I would say that Designer is for vector artwork, Publisher for page layout like posters, ads, brochures etc. If I had to label one of the apps as a "graphic design app" I would say it's Publisher. This thread is from 2015 Publisher hadn't even been conceived then. So out of the 2 apps we had at the time Photo and Designer I would describe designer as a graphic design app and Photo as a raster based photo editor.
