pixfan
Hello, I often use Select --> Tones --> Highlight and then invert the selection in order to select out highlights before exposure correction in plus direction. This is to prevent highlights to blow and lose structure, in a cloudy sky or in white clothing, for instance. 1) Therefore, I woulds rather like to alter the range of highlight gray levels, which is not possible? Isn´t it? 2) Another problem is the hard edge of the selection which gives rise to an unpleasing edge between selected parts and the rest after exposure correction. 2a) Is there a possibility select highlights with a soft edge? 2b) Are there better ways to compensate underexposure without damaging the highlight parts of an image? Thanks for your help! Best Regards Dieter
anon1
You could use the blend if options. I´ve attached an example. - I´ve just checked it again and "underlying composition range" is in fact the right way to go, sorry for the confusion ol4f
pixfan
Oh, this seems to be an option. Thank you for the hint.
