Cursor crosshair extension

Is it possible to extend the cursor crosshairs across the whole page (i.e. to the top and side rulers) to make it easier to align new points with existing points?

Unfortunately as far as I'm aware this isn't possible it might be worth making a post in our Feature Requests section regarding this.

I see an indication of the mouse location on the rulers, a white line which moves as I move the mouse. This is on Mac OS.

There is also an indication in Windows.

Personally I would also use a grid and/or guidelines if I need to align points accurately.

I would add to that; With appropriate snapping candidates.

I found this Adobe Illustrator feature very useful in place of guidelines and snapping. While snapping is great when first starting a project, it becomes useless the moment you resize outside of the grid snap points. As for guidelines, I find they become quite cumbersome especially for more complicated projects.

The bold text has me confused. Can you not increase the grid resolution?

For clarification, I have in the past had to resize groups of objects without snap to grid turned on. In these cases, some resized objects within the group no longer align with the gridlines. Extending the crosshairs when working on one of these objects makes it easier to realign points with other reference points that may be further away in the drawing.
