kakmonster Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Hi, If I buy Affinity Photo from Windows Store, will I get these overlays for free as well? Or is it just if I buy it straight from the website? Quote
Komatös Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 Hi, @kakmonster and welcome to the forums. Yes, but since you also need an account for the Serif Affinity Store, I would recommend that you purchase the programmes directly from the Serif Store. Another advantage over the Microsoft Store: If a version doesn't work with Windows like the previous version, you can always downgrade. This is not possible with the Microsoft or Apple Store versions. And in the Serif Affinity Store you have a 14-day money-back guarantee after purchase, should you not like a programme after all. iconoclast Posted May 22, 2022 Posted May 22, 2022 I recommend to purchase from the Serif Store too, because it has some advantages, respectively to buy on the MS Store has some disadvantages. The MS version doesn't come with an installer, it will be directly installed from the web and it will be hidden on your computer in a sandbox. Good for lazy people at first, but annoying if you want to have full control over your apps. That sometimes causes confusion and problems. E.g. with Plugins. I purchased two of my Affinity Apps on the MS Store, and I will not do it again. Quote
