melissa g Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Hello! I currently have affinity photo and have been playing around with creating stencils from photographs using threshold, invert, posterize, etc. Was wondering if anyone can suggest an easier/ more time saving method. Or with the current sale, I am open to adding another program or add-on to make this process less frustrating. Any help is appreciated! Thanks Quote

Without a detailed description of "your" method, it is not possible to judge whether someone knows a simpler / faster method. melissa g Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 Hmmm well, I am totally green at this, but trying, so please bear with me. I have no specific "go-to" method that I have found to go about this and it definitely depends on the shadow in the photograph. I play with all of these adjustments, however, I mostly manage to get frustrated in the process. My medium is textile / clothing design and my goal is to create stencils in affinity, upload to my cricut ( cutting machine) to cut out the stencil and then use that for my textile project. Quote
Dan C Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Hi @melissa g, Welcome to the Affinity Forums I'd recommend checking out the below thread, as the workflow suggestions made here may help - Equally, as you've mentioned Cricut, if you're looking to export Vector documents for your cutting machine, I'd recommend also checking out the below FAQ - I hope this helps!
