Hattie30 Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Hello, affinity photo on ipad pro I have read and watched info about opening and importing but i’m still a little confused. Where are the extra file stored using import? I copy from my memory card some RAW files. I save them to a folder (not the apple photo app thingy) but a standard folder i can view with file browsers pro. Now in affinity photo i create a new project and then click the + icon to add images. if i select import from cloud i can see all the raw files in the folder and can import one. i can modify it then export to a jpg file. all good. but i can do exactly the same with open instead of import. if i use import the file name is remembered when i export the file if i use open the file name is not remembered, it has the default name of untitled.jpg is import saving a copy of my file in internal memory that i can’t access and thus filling up my memory. is there not a way to delete these internal files once i have finished? or have i got the wrong end of the stick here? or does it not apply here as i am opening a raw file and exporting to a jpg and not opening or importing a jpg and saving it out to a file. also can i fill the new empty project with all the files from my folder all at once or do i have to open/import them into the project individually? thanks for any clarification. Staff stokerg Posted May 16, 2022 Staff Posted May 16, 2022 Hi @Hattie30, Importing from Cloud does create a copy of the image for you to work on. This copy is stored within the Affinity app and is shown as the image you are working on. Closing the Image from the home screen of Affinity, will clear the copy from memory. 20 hours ago, Hattie30 said: can i fill the new empty project with all the files from my folder all at once or do i have to open/import them into the project individually? This would have to be done one by one. Quote
