knickebein Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Hi, I can embed fonts during the export of a document to PDF, but how can I embed them in the original .afpub-file for further working on another PC/Mac without installing it separately there? Thanks, Oliver Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @knickebein. If you use File > Export as Package you should have the option to include the fonts in the .afpackage file that is produced. You can then send the .afpackage file and any images to the other machine, and Open the .afpackage file in Publisher there. At that point, I believe the included fonts will be temporarily installed for use while you're editing the file, and removed when you close the file or close Publisher. However, it is your responsibility to verify that the licensing terms for the fonts allow this. knickebein Posted May 14, 2022 Author Posted May 14, 2022 OK, thank you, Walt! I only use free fonts under public license and only for non-professional purpose. But I thought, there would be a possibility to embed the fonts (like pictures) directly into the file - so that I don't have to build a package after every change in a distributed work environment (for my daughter and me). walt.farrell Posted May 14, 2022 Posted May 14, 2022 No, using the package function is the only way. Once you transferred the fonts in a package you wouldn't need to continue with packages for every change, unless new fonts get used. Another option would be to transfer the fonts without Affinity in your Finder or Explorer to the other computer and install them there. Then it is sufficient to send the Affinity document without ever packaging it.
