Poor quality of a photo

Recommended Posts

Hi 😉

I received a photo by sms that is not really good quality.

Does it depend on the smarphone of my correspondent or on the fact that it is sent by sms ?

Will it be better by mail ?

Thanks

You can’t send photos via sms (directly)

most phones use mms instead of sms to send photos, but at a degraded quality.
It depends on the messenger app if and  how images get compressed.

mms worst

whatsup very bad

imessage good

email depends on client software, some let you choose quality

Can’t you simply choose the format and quality you want, zip up the file and send it as an attachment? You wouldn’t want it to be huge (like tens of megabytes) but apart from that the quality doesn’t need to suffer.

20MB is typical limit on emails, so send by email and keep to that limit.
