Square Donut Tool

I might be missing a way to do it & have searched for it, but a square donut tool or an all shapes tool having the donut ability would be great addition to the shapes toolkit.

The Contour Tool in Designer does pretty-much what you need (if I have understood you requirements correctly) but it requires you to have two shapes to create a donut – original shape and ‘contoured’ shape.

Maybe the Contour Tool could be extended to include a “Keep Original Shape” check box.
(I have no idea how this would work in practice though.)

Doesn’t ‘Expand Stroke’ produce the desired end result quite easily? Draw a closed curve, apply a wide stroke, and then use the ‘Expand Stroke’ command to create a Curves object that mimics the stroke.
