mask layer not responding

Hi, 

When I want to use a mask layer is doesn't happen. This applies to the inverted mask as well as a regular mask layer. I use basic brushes, blend mode normal. 

I have no idea where it goes wrong. 

Can anyone help me?

The brush opacity is set to 0.

But by the way, you don't need an extra mask. You can mask out parts directly on the adjustment layer.
