rickmoff Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 uploaded.... and thanks for the quick reply. Of coarse this is a rush for a sponsorship banner and they can't read the Affinity files MEB 1 Quote
Staff MEB Posted May 12, 2022 Staff Posted May 12, 2022 @rickmoff, Do you really need to export this at 300dpi? This is a huge file/banner (8x6ft), typically seen from some distance, exporting at 150dpi should be more than enough. You're probably running out of system resources when exporting at 300dpi. Reduce the dpi to 200 and check if it exports fine. If so it's not an issue with the file itself. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
rickmoff Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 I thought I needed 300 DPI for printing. I'm not seeing how to choose DPOI Quote

At the moment your document is 28'800 x 21'600 which is at least ten times the size your need. I would drop DPI to 72DPI or even lower. You only need 300 DPI for items that will be viewed from short distances and/or with a magnifying glass. Books are an obvious example, but also large items such as maps. Even at only 100 DPI, an 8′ × 6′ banner (i.e. 10′ diagonal) becomes ‘retina’ at less than 3′, meaning that at normal viewing distances you won’t be able to distinguish individual pixels. If you drop the output resolution to 30 DPI, the minimum viewing distance is still less than 10′. Staff MEB Posted June 1, 2022 Staff Posted June 1, 2022 Hi @rickmoff, Sorry the delay getting back to you. To change document's DPI go to menu Document > Resize Document, untick the Resample checkbox and change the DPI to 150 (or lower) and press the Resize button.
