Clear pixel layer contents hotkey

Recommended Posts

Can we get a shortcut to delete the contents of a pixel layer? Ideally, I want to delete the contents of a layer with Delete and use Backspace to remove the layer alltogether. Currently, the former is not possible with a single shortcut.

Hi Intuous5,

With a pixel layer selected pressing the delete or backspace key (at least on my Mac) deletes the entire pixel layer including content are you looking to keep the pixel layer and only delete the contents?

Thanks

Yes I am looking for deleting the contents of the layer, but keeping the layer itself. I much rather press "delete" than "ctrl+a > delete > ctrl+d" or "delete > new layer hotkey" . I use this a lot when sketching in other software, to scrap an idea and/ or when adjusting the brush settings on a new layer.

It would therefore also be applicable to Designer, to delete all shapes (or brush strokes) contained in a layer.

Hold the ctrl key down then hit the a x d keys

(then release the ctrl key)

Or create a macro to do what you want (APhoto only)
