Some artboards not taking an image

I have 40 artboards set up.  4 rows of ten.  I have 18 images saved in a folder.  I have dragged and dropped a number of the images and sized them as I wanted.  On the right, the main "menu" for the particular artboard has a small icon that has the image I have imported.

In my fourth column, a few of the artboards(but not all, a couple have been fine), when I drop the image, I have a blank rectangle, and noticeably, the square next to the main menu for the artboard is empty.  The sub-item with the image has the image, but my artboard remains blank. 

17th Hole and 18th hole are the ones to look at here.  I did nothing different in the importing of these images.  I don't know enough about artboard settings, as I am new to Affinity, so I'm not even sure what I'm looking at when I try to compare to others.  Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

Select the 18th HOle(flip) artboard itself, not the PNG Image below it. At the top of the Layers panel, what is shown for the Opacity of the Artboard, & what blend mode is it set to?

If the Opacity is 100% & the blend mode is Normal, you should see the PNG in it.
