Inconsistent hyphenation (Silbentrennung) in German

A cursory glance at the end of the second line of each embedded screenshot points to a bug, because only one (the first one) is correct.

There seems to be an issue in the hyphenation dictionary with the word part 'ionie', as in funktionieren, fusionieren, passionieren, visionieren, spionieren, etc.

Does someone know a way to fix it myself with standard tools?
If I open in APub.app -> hyph_de_DE.dic with a text editor I don't see markers within 'ionie' in the according words, even not the correct hyphenation at 'io–nie'.

Similar problem in spanish ES-es hyphenation.
It's an old-known problem in the (otherwise good) AFF apps.

But, the real problem is that hyphenation rules are not so complex, really!...

I can confirm that in Spanish the hyphenation makes a lot of incorrect/forbidden partitions (And it makes it horribly wrong, like breaking sylabes), that only happens on the Affinity apps. In fact, I desisted on using the Spanish hyphen rules and I use the ones for Latin, because it works much better.

Spanish hyphenation rules work in Affinity as in LibreOffice, if you are using the right version of the Hunspell files. No difference at all. See this thread:

Hi @Helmar,

Could you attach your afpub file which shows the hyphenation issues?

There is defiantly something going on here, as in our tests we get totally different results to other apps which use the same dictionary system.  Once i've got the file, i can get this logged with the Dev team for further investigation

@stokerg : That should suffice, methinks. I would have to send you an entire book, so please check with tomaso's file, and forward to the dev team, including the Spanish issue mentioned above. Thanks so much for all your help!

I found another one. See screenshots, line 5, right at the end "Militäreinrichtungen". In "Auto" and "German" it's incorrectly hyphenated, in "Latin" it's correct.

And another one. Correct "hyphenation" would in this case be "hochentwik- kelte" or at least "hochent- wickelte", but certainly not "hochentwi- ckelte".

In this case I disagree, sorry. Unfortunately the most recent "Deutsche Rechtschreibreform" allows in particular such a hyphenation of 'ck' or 'kk'. (... and others which conflict likewise with earlier rules, for instance Chir•urg, Päd•ago•gik)

A general additional problem seems to be that German now uses 3 different dictionaries based on different years. For example, ID has three additional sub-folders in its dictionaries: 1901, 1996, 2006, to cover different expectations, habits or needs.
