ShaunTa Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Hello! Im a print-on-demand designer and I have a question regarding copy & paste function in Affinity Designer. Is there a way to quickly copy a design/design element from 1 artboard to many other artboards in the same working file? (The copied elements should land on the same position as the original one locates in the original artboard) I tried ctrc C the element >>> then choose all other artboards in the right panel >>> then Ctr V but it just doesnt work. I oftens create my design in artboard #1, then I have to manually copy it to the remaining artboards #2,#3,....,#100. Of course Copy & Paste function allow the design elements to land at the exact position in other artboards, but the process is very tiring. Thank you very much & have a great day! Quote
firstdefence Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Just a thought but, If you are using Affinity Designer you might try making an artboard a symbol, so whatever you do on one artboard replicates to the others.Artboard as a symbol.afdesign Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... This kind of sort of sounds like a job for Publisher with Master Page(s) applied to Actual Pages. ShaunTa Posted June 2, 2022 Author Posted June 2, 2022 Thank you! Using symbol does help tremendously Quote
retrograde Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Just a simple 'paste on all artboards' from the edit menu would be welcome. That way single or multiple objects could be pasted at anytime to existing artboards unlike the artboard as a symbol method. But how would that work for positioning the pasted item within each artboard, particularly if the artboards had different dimensions? retrograde Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Could be an x/y position taken from the originating artboard. Some repositioning may have to happen occasionally and that's fine. I'm thinking of titles and/or repeating copy information specifically when presenting client concepts so that the info is consistently presented and isn't jumping all over the place from page to page... It exists in Illustrator and is very useful when you design slides like an Instagram carousel. Quote

ThunderbirdOne Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If you copy an item on an artboard, then (using the artboard tool) select your destination artboard. You can then press Cmd/Ctrl + V to paste the item in the same location on the artboard. Quote
