spadino Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I downloaded the trial version of Affinity Photo, but I can't use it because part of the home page is occupied by the message, which features a green letter -P- with a help announcement for artists from all over the world etc. etc. .. If I buy it, and I am left with the above, I would not know what to do with the software. Waiting for your reply, I salute you. Maurizio Cardi (Italy). Quote
walt.farrell Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @spadino. I don't think I've ever seen what you are describing. Please take a screenshot of the complete application window, and paste it into a reply here so we can be sure we understand what is happening to you. PaulEC Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 It's the standard display in the Stock Panel before you search for something, but I have no idea why it should stop anyone from using the app! EDIT: Unless it's floating and fills the screen! walt.farrell Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 As Paul mentioned, it's the Stock panel. I'm not sure why it's there, but try using the View menu: View > Studio > Reset Studio. spadino Posted May 2, 2022 Author Posted May 2, 2022 Thanks Walt, for the indication; I immediately try to solve the problem. When I use the software, a large part of the screen remains occupied by the advertisement. Anyway, now I put Walt's suggestion into practice. Thanks for everything. A greeting. maurizio walt.farrell 1 Quote

As you can see from my screenshot, this is a standard Stock panel (Pexels), that can be turned off at any time - for example menu View/Studio/Stock, or by dragging the panel off the dock and clicking on the cross. I thought it was worth saying what it is, as all you said about it was, "Maybe it's this - I just saw it in another thread", without any explanation! 😉 Quote Acer XC-895 : Core i5-10400 Hexa-core 2.90 GHz : 32GB RAM : Intel UHD Graphics 630 – Windows 11 Home - Affinity Publisher, Photo & Designer, v2 (As I am a Windows user, any answers/comments I contribute may not apply to Mac or iPad.)

Yes - the description of the screenshot was directed to the vague description of the OP "which features a green letter -P-". However, it is clear from the screenshot that this is a standard panel / studio, so there should be no problem with closing it or ignoring it - it does not prevent further work, it just takes up space. The main thing is that the "problem" is solved 🙂 PaulEC 1 Quote Affinity Store (MSI/EXE): Affinity Suite (ADe, APh, APu) 2.5.7.2948 (Retail) Dell OptiPlex 7060, i5-8500 3.00 GHz, 16 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630, Dell P2417H 1920 x 1080, Windows 11 Pro, Version 24H2, Build 26100.2605. spadino Posted May 3, 2022 Author Posted May 3, 2022 Hello, thank you Walt, because with his indications, he allowed me to solve the problem. From the view menu,> study> restore study. (I'm just starting to use the software, which I find great). I greet everyone. maurizio Quote

Apparently, the Latin root is "studium" which according to the built-in macOS dictionary means zeal or painstaking application.
