Affinity Photo and Designer always crash when openCL is enabled.

There are many people with the same problem here on the forum, the Affinity staff always say it's a GPU drivers problem, update your drivers.

Adobe Photoshop also uses openCL and does not crash all the time! I worked with it for 11 hours today no crash, so the problem must be Affinity and not the drivers.

I have a feeling it's not a drivers problem but rather a bad implementation of openCL in your software.

Fix your software!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Possibly PS is using different functions of OpenCL than the Affinity applications use.

Possibly, but there have been many users helped by performing a driver update. Most often to a newer level, but sometimes to an older level. The Affinity code would be the same in either case, so that tends to indicate that it is a problem with the driver code.

If you're actually seeing crashes, are you getting crash reports? If so, it might help to upload one of them.

Also, please let us know more details about your system (exact Windows 10 or 11 release info from the winver command or from About in Windows Settings, and details of your GPU (kind, driver level).

Also, a screenshot of the Performance tab in your Affinity Photo Preferences, please.
